Historical reporting in it's modern day role has become less important for decision making and more so for compliance and tax requirements. The primary outcome of a set of financial statements in the SME framework is to report to stakeholders in terms of the companies act and trust property control act and then as a secondary, to submit them to SARS through compulsory income tax submissions.
